Avant browser crashing

A recent problem: from time to time Avant seizes up and cannot even be closed, not even via Task manager - the only way forward is to restart the computer. It's already done it two or three times today, and it's very irritating. Can't see any pattern to it.

So, before I ditch Avant (after a long and happy relationship) and try IE (groan) does anyone have any suggestions?

Windows xp & latest version of Avant.

How do I make IE my default browser?
I now have Firefox working as there is a plug-in that helps moderate Freecycle sites, but for general use I prefer to use IE7. At the moment Firefox is the default browser and I can't work out how to change it back.

I've deleted everything and started again - I'm told my default signature has been saved - but it is not appearing........................... what am I not doing ?

Why do I keep getting logged out?? Every time I go to a different forum or try to answer in a furum I'm logged out. Is it to do with cookies by any chance??

I have a box pops up on start up with RUNDLL written in it. I have looked at several removal sites on google , I go through the scanning process then it wants me to pay! Anyone know of a free site to remove this? I am running on windows xp

Of the two processors I am looking at one has built in wireless networking. Can't decide if this is a plus or minus. The plus is that there is less 'stuff' in a small space. The minus is ... I've always had a lap top due to limited space in my house. Desktops have become so much more compact recently I was thinking of changing especially since my laptop is so slow plus if I could network with the laptop I have it would mean my brother and I could be on line at the same time instead of sharing this one.

The most compact of desk tops seems to be HP, though Acer do them as well

I have been happily using BonusPrint for years but recently they've 'improved' their uploading service. Not only could I not see how my pictures were going to look when printed (hence several people lost their heads), neither could I easily check how many copies I'd ordered, (several prints came back with 5 copies when I really wanted 2) nor did the site tell me how much postage I was paying. And to cap it - it took over a week for the prints to arrive when they used to arrive...
