Have just checked Google and the plants they show are the same as mine. They do look 'lax' as they lie low in the ground naturally. I believe they grow in the foothills of mountains naturally, and sort of scramble accross rocks etc.

They have a lovely vivid blue/purple colour. Later in the summer I will be taking loads of cuttings so I will send you a list.

Interested to read your description of P. heterophyllus and wonder if my plant is misnamed.
It's in an 9" pot with rathr lax growth which I put down to being in among so many others, as the label reads

Funnily enough I have been to see a national penstemon collection in Dorset it was in a country house, name escapes me at the moment.

I have hetrophylia blue, its a very low growing ground cover penstemon that flowers quite early. Quite short lived, so need to keep taking cuttings. I will do some later in the summer would you like a couple??
