As I still wait (and wait) for someone to transform my garden, my ideas are getting more ambitious, so I'm now thinking of a small pond (following Salli's plans with interest) and wondering whether to go the whole hog and take out the Leylandii hedge! 			<description><![CDATA[ I did have a golden privet hedge but a couple of bushes in the middle died off for some reason.I replanted that last year with copper beech.<br><br>I also have a fairly long hedge of Lonicera,this is very easy to propagate,in fact if all the clippings dont get cleared up I often find little Lonicera plants growing,so if you are buying  this for a hedge it might be worthwhile only buying about half the number of plants you need and take cuttings for the rest.<br><br>I have a bush of the golden... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ You have to be careful when planting the Berberris -Barberry. They are beautiful and easy to grow but they have nice thorns too. Or at least the Roseglow, Crimson pigmy , and Golden do. <br>Also , they are susceptible to verticullum wilt, soil born disease.<br>The Pigmy stays short - 3' or so but it is rich bronze red. The Roseglow has pink tips and gets quite a bit taller 5' or more.<br>The Golden I just spotted this year and it is one that had the verticullum wilt.<br> ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ My favourite is Beech because of the retention of its brown leaves through much of the winter. Also those lush new light green leaves in late spring.<br><br>Here are just a few shrubs to look up. 			<description><![CDATA[ A neighbour of mine has a hedge of Escallonia (sorry about spelling and from June, July its a mass of pink flowers, very pretty.
