Yes you are right it is a chaffinch. I wondered after I had posted if it was. I see a lot of Jays in our garden (stand corrected about the name too, assumed they were blue jays) and it was difficult to judge the size of that lovely little bird.

It's definitely a chaffinch, but the drawing colour leaves a lot to be desired.

Spidey is really chuffed that you liked them, Saph.

But he forgot to mention that I particularly like the one of the blackbird too.

And that your photographs are rather more accurate for colour than the drawing of the chaffinch. At least I'm fairly sure it's a chaffinch...

Lovey pictures Saph, I just love Blue Jays, you captured them really well. Looking at the pics again, I'm not sure they are blue jays but they do have the same or very similar markings.
