I have it configured to keep the cookies I want (the ones that keep me logged in - and to leave my Microsoft Office settings alone) and it bins the rest, along with all the temporary files.

Some can be usefull; for example some let you stay logged into your favourite website's. Some can be used to track what you are doing online and you may not want that.

I always delete cookies, 'cos I know all my user-names and passwords.
