Hi Mo, I answered this q on the Message Board, but here goes again.

I found in RHS a Flamingo Plant (justicia), it's a shrub rather than a tree. If you can't find it in your gardening books, post back and I'll give you a description. I can understand why you want to know Mo, I would love one.

Hi Saph&Liggy
still searching, have looked up Justicia in my RHS book
(small sized one book that is) and cannot find it,also looked up the Willow and no luck there either.
The Daughter has just bought a new pad and there is one in the garden, she says its just two sticks and is thinkingof removing it,so this is a mission of mercy but if it is THAT GOOD Saph i will offer it a home in mine,so any details or where i can find a photo.,will be much appreciated Thanks

You can find a piccy and description of
Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki' which is what Liggy thinks it may be, on:
www.davew.skynet.co.uk/august.html

Hope that helps a bit.

As a result of discussions in the chat room tonight between Saph and Bill concerning this mystery tree, Bill has found a photograph of what it possibly is and sent it through to RG.

The photograph is uploaded to the gardening forum albums in the picture centre of RG. For a quick link click on here:

www.realgardeners.co.uk/p..._album.htm

The latin name for this is: Justicia Spicigera

I think this search for the right tree is a lesson to us all that it is sensible to know the latin names for everything - says me that never remembers one !!!
