Established Tree Posts: 19808 24-03-08 12:43 Retired Auctioneer	I'm trying to get going on the new RG info & help forum (well, I find it useful to refer to if no-one else does! ) Am considering which topics would benefit from the "step-by-step illustrated with screenshots" approach - I've just posted the first of these here so you can see what I mean. Here's my current list of topics to deal with in this way (in no particular order): Pic - posting from a URL Pic - hosting & posting with Yuku Photobucket - signing up for an account & uploading pix [done] Photobucket - posting a pic from Photobucket - linking to Yuku & posting a pic from Avatar Signature Link - posting Are there any more topics you think would benefit from this approach? (Or, come to that, any on this list you don't think should be on it?) BTW, I've created a new, nice & clean, Photobucket account and Yuku identity for this purpose - unmucked about and with all the default settings - so the screenshots will as far as possible be what a 'newbie' sees. The only comment I would make is that if people don't want to go too mad posting pictures, but certainly as far as avatars and signatures are concerned, Yuku has made it very easy and will provide hosting for them. It's also worth noting that you can insert anything in your Yuku galleries into PMs which is a nice touch. ..........

Established Tree Posts: 19813 24-03-08 13:31 Retired Auctioneer	Absolutely right, Laurel - I confess I'd pushed the 'Yuku hosting' bit (apart from avatars & signatures) so far to the back of my mind it was hidden in there. I'll bring it back to the front and add it to the list. (Somewhere Pip told us the maximum amount you can store on Yuku - can you remember what it is, or even where it is?) You can actually put anything in a PM, can't you? Image from Yuku or PB or URL, link... I'm not very good on PMs - they're a recent addition for me! I do know that I hate the default range of smilies you get in there. I'm trying to think how to organise all the help into manageable chunks that I can link to other chunks - the possible combinations are mind-blowing as Yuku is so flexible. Any help on that side of things would be greatly appreciated! Edit: Sorry - as usual so single-mindedly pursuing the task in hand that I forgot to say thank you for your nice comments, everyone! Thanks Pauline, I must admit that I tend to host things on Yuku at the moment because it is so easy, however, I really should get to grips with Photobucket. I think Pip said that there is a 100 mb (or was it kb ) maximum - I know I tried to count up how much I had in there and got so thoroughly confused that I decided to continue hosting it there until they told me it was full up. Have just discovered the true joy of having pix in a Yuku album and now have a set of emoticons I actually want to use in my PMs. And you can even upload one in the middle of writing a message if you want to, all without opening a single extra window or anything. Fan-flipping-tastic! Thanks for nudging me into that, Laurel. You may be wondering at this point, as am I, whether I am really even half-qualified to put together this help forum! But with all you chaps helping me along, I think it'll be just fine in the end.

My impressions were but now that it's polished, I think credit should be given to the creators. Certainly much more user friendly now. Just a small question. If I add smilies using the top toolbar icon, I find my cursor drops down a couple of lines each time I click on one, and I have to reposition it with mouse action. It happens on both XP & Vista, so mustn't be an OS problem. Anyone else have this problem, and is there a way to sort it?
