I've needed to know, and been asked, a few times now what the background colour is, so I thought I'd record it for posterity and tell you how to match it in a posting.
You may not find the second of those a useful ability on the face of it, but I'm going to show you one use for it.
If you're working in a photo-editing program that allows you to specify colour in hex, it's #f3f9f3.
Now how to make text in a posting invisible - suppose you want to put two pix side-by-side. Even if you put extra spaces between them they won't show up, but are automatically replaced with a single space, and your pix will look this close:
So you can type something between them - it doesn't matter what:
M
We now have space-M-space between them.
To hide that M - first select it and make it a colour - red is good:
M
Now click on the HTML button and look for color=#ff0000
ff0000 is the hex code for red - just change it to #f3f9f3 and when you click the HTML button again to get back into the wysiwyg editor, the M will be in a
very pale green that you might just be able to see against the white of the box you type in.
When you preview or post it will have disappeared completely:
M
Neat, eh?
