I have Vista Ultimate installed on my new PC, but I've yet to see any of this Aero stuff. Can you give me the lowdown please.
I have a geforce 8600GTS graphics card installed, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Vista but it is Home Premium and I have no idea what an Aero is except a choccy bar. Sorry Yoho

Home Premium has it as well, Lynne. The only one that hasn't got it, is Home basic, from what I can gather,

Check out the My Computer properties and check your windows experience level to see if anything else is preventing Aero from running, some PC's with less
than 2Gb of memory can't run it. If the experience levels are not set try running the tests and if the PC is good enough aero should kick in.
Also check out the Performance Information and Tools in the control panel to see what you have available. The easiest way to see if you have aero is to do Alt-Tab and if you get fancy 3d windows aero is active, unless of course you have SP1 and then all bets are off.

Thanks guys. that'll get me cracking.
Jane. Did an experience check, and I'm at 5.6, and that should be well plenty enough. Quad core intel processor with 4gb of Corsair DDR2 ram. |

The Alt-tab key does bring up a choice of windows, oh yes, and I downloaded SP1 for Vista Ultimate 64bit this morning.
 It's 64bit I have installed, and all drivers seem to be in order.

On mine to get the 3d effect is hold down Crtl, Micro Sign, & Tab.
I like it. You can shuffle your papers.

I just don't seem to be getting that glassy effect, but at the end of the day, I'm not particularily bothered.
