Somebody got me to sign up for Facebook. I have never done a thing with it. It appears to be a social networking site for teenagers.
Personally i would forget it, it seems to be a waste of time, unless you are less than 2, but as i always say....each to their own. |

One of our TA's says some ex-pupils have done a really good write up on me, saying how good a teacher I was but even that hasn't tempted me to join, or
even look at it!
Yes Sorry Kitty!

You in drag again Plot?. I have enough problems finding the time to keep up with friends here and social events. So no space in my diary for face book. From
what has been in the news recently regarding facebook and My Space people arn't necc who they say they are.

I confess that I'm on Facebook. My daughter talked me into signing up. I quite like it as a social network. There are different applications on it. I
play alot of Scrabble and have really enjoyed that. There are different networks of people with like causes and interests. It's a great way to find
people that you've lost touch and also make new friends.
The people are from all over the world. Because we're in a small town, the kids often move away after they leave high school. My daughter has been able to find and reconnect with friends from school and I've also been able to keep in touch with them since I knew so many of her friends as friends as well. An example of networking was with Earth Hour the other night. There were just over 70,000 people that signed up for it on Facebook from all over the world. There are networks of people concerning all kinds of things from business to gaming. I must say that I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'm not on it, but have friends who are. One signed up without putting her surname in as she just wanted to look ... and was amazed at how many people
found her! She can't delete her info off it either now she doesn't want to be on it.
I wouldn't. |

I'm on Facebook only because on another forum they can't post piccies so post them there to share. I really haven't got to grips with it properly
and what I've seen I feel is rather childish ... but then, we're all children at heart.

I joined Facebook when a crowd of us were made redundant as a way of keeping in touch. Since then a primary schoolmate of mine contacted me (he is now a vicar)
and members of my family have joined, and we share photos. I have also met a number of people from all over the world who share my family surname.
There is a lot of silliness on it, but I generally just ignore that. MySpace is similar, and I was able to have an I.M. style conversation with the American drummer of one of my favourite bands. |

I joined facebook and used it for a few weeks but it is just so busy that I ended up with a huge number of emails from it... games that people play and
forwarded gifts/emails etc. I just haven't got the time for it.
CA, I use flickr for photo sharing... it's much better (in my humble opinion) than facebook if that's what you are using it for. I've also got a myspace account.. I MUCH prefer this to facebook. I do not use my real name on any of these accounts though - I'm Wild Garlic on facebook and I once had someone email to ask whether I was related to a Mr Garlic!

My latest PC Advisor had this this morning. I thought it might be
of interest to Pens and other people that might be wondering about Facebook. ![]()

I like Rich use it to find lost family and friends, my son and niece and cousin and old work make those 4 make up my portfolio so far I get pictures from them
all, and they swop pictures with each other, there are some things that I ignore like the Americaness but they also have silly quizes which my work mate and I
play together.
