The chairs on my little sidewalk front garden are looking pretty rustic and need some paint. The old faithful Toronto tulips are blooming happily away. I highly recommend these. They're a soft red, multiblooming and last year after year, always looking wonderful. They come quite early, right after the crocus.
Also at the front, beside the sidewalk, the orange tulips and purple hyacinth made me happy this year and are blooming at the same time. Purple and orange are a favourite combination of mine. The lavendar is still waiting for warmer temps.
Also at the front of the house, the raised veggie bed is surrounded with daffodils blooming merrily away. They're making quite a show right now. The ruhbarb will soon be ready to pick. The tall green stakes in the veggie garden with the strings across, are for the peas which have just starting to sprout. Again, they'll appreciate some cooler temps.
It's wonderful to have flowers to photograph again.
Last year's tacky birdbath fountain, didn't make it through the winter intact, so I took the top off and turned the bottom into a planter. I'm really enjoying it. I love the combination of these colours.
Things are a bit slower at the back. The main flush of tulips is still to come, but the Toronto tulips that are planted back there are out and lifting my spirits.
The old white birch really helps to set them off, I think.
Just one more....
I bought this yesterday at the garden center when we went to get leeks and triple mix.
It's aptly named, Cutie Pie.
Thanks for looking.
