It's a Lamprathus Double Lilac - Beautiful spreading succulent. Ideal for very dry situations - raised beds, pots, etc. Carpets of small succulent leaves with masses of brilliantly coloured daisy flowers through summer. Plant in full sun. Ht 15/20 cms.

It just happened that a bit fell off

and is now sitting in a pot of water.

Will Abbotsbury ever recover, I ask myself.

Jane - I love your gallery: beautiful, elegant presentation that doesn't get in the way of one's seeing the pictures. A master-class in how it ought to be done, if you don't mind my saying.

As for the pix themselves, I shan't even attempt to do them justice - there are some absolute stunners in there.

I have to ask this though - was the 'homage to Monet minus the waterlilies' intended as such? (It made me smile, anyway.

)

Yes that is the one CA . But I doubt if I will be able to get it at any of the garden centres up here as it is too out of the ordinary . Have written it in my notebook and will check them out tho

Great pics everyone, it is nice to see the people you talk to on here. Abbotsbury looks gorgeous, pity it's so far from me, or I might have made one of the meets there myself.

Yes, ChrisAnn that is definitely a Euphorbia you can tell by the flowers, but there are a few different variants.

I've been looking for that Euphorbia and I can't find it.

But it does look very much like E. polychroma - have a google & see what you think. (I think the leaves are different, but if you're looking for something like the one in the pic, it might well do.

)
