When instructions say "plant bulbs 10cm deep", does this mean to make a hole 10 cm deep and put the bulb in, or does it mean to make a hole and plant
the bulb so it has 10 cm of soil above it?

I always do the 10cm of soil above it and if it says more I do that, if you follow me.

Well, I go with three times the bulbs depth, does that help?

Soil structure makes a difference too, on clay I would plant shallower than on a lighter soil... but I leave bulbs to Scissors!

I can't say I have ever measured it.. I plant big bulbs deeper than small ones. I guess 2 -3 times their size?
