Anyone thinking of a DAB radio, I'd think twice as it looks dead in the water. I was reading an article in Micro Mart mag, and a lot of stations have
pulled out because of, among other things, expense. They are now talking of DAB+, and even that may not make it, and it is not backwards compatible with DAB.

It will be a shame if it does, as the quality is much better than FM, of course there were a lot of stations which started up only for DAB in the same way as
for Freeview and I wonder if what we are seeing is a similar sort out to that which has been happening on Freeview.

I am convert to digital in that I love some of the stations I can get.... but the signal
here in the deep south is dreadful and reception can be so bad as to be unlistenable (if that's not a word it should be.) I too heard an item about DAB perhaps not being the best platform. I have several DAB radios about the place and they were not cheap to buy....have I been sold a pup.

Only time will tell, Lottie.
After doing a few Googles, there is a very mixed reception coming from peeps, like here. I toyed with the idea when buying a little radio for work. I bought a Roberts FM/AM @ £30. A similar one is available with DAB for £10 more, but having had a look at available stations in N Ireland, it just wasn't worth it. Glad I didn't now, though it's only four pints more in price.

DAB = Digital Audio Broadcasting Personally I moved to Digital Satellite 2 -years ago. This allows me to get approx 950 free digital TV stations around Europe and North Africa. I also receive digital radio (400+ stations). I must admit when I play the digital radio stations through my surround-sound setup the sound is awesome (there are some excellent jazz stations out there)..

Remember 'Der oledesender'? Can I get that on the new system? Wouldn't want to see Pens short, if you know wot I mean.
