We've not had a book chat for a while

I'm reading "The Club" by Manda Sue Heller and I'm about to give up with it, its REALLLY naff!
Got 5 books out the library last week, and I don't fancy any of them next except 1 - "The Girls Guide to Modern European Philosophy" by Charlotte Greig. It was one of those last minute picks, and looks like a light-hearted read.

Just finished a Lee Child (Jack Reacher) book, which was okay for a quick read.

I've not read anything worth getting my teeth into for a while - can anybody recommend anything?

Mostly I'm reading the back of the cornflakes packet (being addicted to print but short of an unread novel) at the moment. I need to take a trip to the airport - it's a lot easier to park outside than the only English bookshop in town!

I've been reading true stories of late.
But have enjoyed C.J. Sansom and his historical detective stories set in Henry 8th time, can't wat for his new book Revalation out in April.
Als enjoyed reading Mike Gayles books about men who are selfish and the girl friend / wife leaves them, the men hit a low point then turn them selves round after a bashing from friends and ex partners, prove they have changed and either get their girlfriend /wife back or a new partner.
Alan Tichmarsh does some light hearted stories as well.

I have just finished '6th Sense' by James Patterson (load of old tosh ). am now reading ' Not Dead Enough' by Peter James (which seems better).

I am also listening too 'Dr Death' by Joanthan Kellerman..

I think I need a change of genre

I'm reading "Dissolution" by C J Sansom (see Helen's post above) which was recommended. I must say I'm enjoying it.

Recently I have read Wilbur Smith's Egyptian novels which were brilliant - can't remember the name of the first one, but the second one was "The Seventh Scroll". I have yet to read the third in the trilogy.

I also enjoy Erica James' stories which are contemporary, very readable and often amusing.

I finished reading Good in Bed by Jennifer Wiener (sp)?

Very good read...funny & smart. Apparently she was the lady who wrote the book In Her Shoes, which was made into a film with the girl form Something about Mary & the mother from 6th Sense.
