Established Tree Posts: 4051 06-05-08 22:14 Established Tree	I had some of these gorgous plants last summer, they mingled with other plants in the borders in a most delightful way. I left them in over winter, but also collected seeds which I sowed earlier this Spring. Dismal failure on both counts. No sign of the plants in the borders, and the seed just didn't germinate. So I've bought some more from the local GC (£1 each - not bad, I thought). Has anyone had any success propagating them?

Established Tree Posts: 8659 06-05-08 22:36	At my last garden I mounded them up over winter and they came back for 3 or 4 years, but after that they disappeared without trace. I lost one here at the new garden after the first year. A £1 each is a brilliant price, well done on a bargain.

Flowering Annual Posts: 478 08-05-08 21:15 Flowering Annual	I had some in a pot, which lasted a couple of years. I cut them back after the first year, and protected them, so i was pleased that they came back the second year, I did the same the second year, but they didn't show again. from Christine

Established Tree Posts: 9032 10-05-08 19:11 Established Tree	I had some a few years back and they do mingle very very well, I did mine with Lavender, looked a dream. They do need to be treated tenderly though, like dahlia but abit more tender, not even a thought of frost
